Just saw statistics from 2011 for the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office Warrant & Fugitive Squad. The team served over 800 arrest warrants, arrested 628 fugitives on felony warrants. 26 of these felony arrests were for murder, and another 143 felony arrests were for other violent crimes. In addition to the felony warrants another 162 misdemeanor warrants were also served. Nice job keeping the streets safe OCSO Warrant Team!

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department has teamed with police from Bethany, Forest Park and Midwest City to form a task force aimed at curbing teenage drinking. Sheriff John Whetsel said the task force will do compliance checks at convenience stores and bars, and conduct “party patrols” to look for teens who are drinking.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff Department has an innovative squad car that can follow the drivers commands. This high tech cruiser is the only one like it in the state. KWTV’S Amy Lester Reports.
