Undersheriff P.D. Taylor is an active, well-known pillar in the law enforcement community. He has served the citizens of Oklahoma City and Oklahoma Count for 46 years in various capacities. Upon his retirement from the Oklahoma City Police Department on January 31, 1997, he immediately came to work for the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office on the very next day! P.D. was hired by the Sheriff’s Office as a Captain due to the extensive knowledge he possessed from his prior law enforcement service. He was promoted to the rank of Major on October 1, 1999 and then serving us as Undersheriff for almost 14 years.
P.D. is an active member of the Oklahoma Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, the Oklahoma Sheriffs Association, and the Oklahoma Chiefs of Police. He also volunteers and serves on many boards, committees, and commissions. He currently holds a seat on the Oklahoma County Retirement Board, the Conditional Bond Board, the Drug Court Board, the Community Sentencing Board, the ABLE Commission, and the Planning Committee for Leadership Oklahoma City. In addition, he has received numerous accolades and honors.
